Join us for a performance evening of our new exhibition The Baroness with Nora Gomringer, Liv Schulman and myself.
Exploring the complex dynamic between Elsa and her sometime lover, Marcel Duchamp, and Elsa’s influence, not just on the man but on his alter ego Rose Selavy, I bring Elsa to life, performing alongside my silent movie and accompanied by Palestinian singer Emmal Baker, singing أحمد العربي (Ahmad Al-Arabi), an Arabic song about occupation, love and longing.
The Baroness is a group exhibition dedicated to Dada artist, the Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven (1874–1927). Featuring rare original artworks by the artist.
