Set within the familiar framework of a first date, Piña Coladas flow as a convoluted pantomime of courtship unfolds – one that crosses genders and desires to humorously expose the absurdities of modern app-based dating and the façades we construct in the pursuit of love. The audience, handed a prop and even a role, is swept into a madcap routine of antics: voguing, flirting, and dancing. All of it is underscored by the riotous sounds of the Bum Notes, who gleefully toot their trumpet and saxophone straight from their derrieres.
